TERRE HAUTE —
A Terre Haute man was arrested for drunken driving after his motorized scooter crashed late Friday on U.S. 41 near Harlan Drive.
Buddy Ellinger, 40, was treated at Terre Haute Regional Hospital for multiple injuries after his scooter hit a bump in the road and collided with an orange road construction barrel at about 11:25 p.m.
Chief Deputy Clark Cottom reported that Ellinger had a blood-alcohol content of 0.25 percent. After being treated in the emergency room, he was transported to the Vigo County Jail where he was also cited for driving a motorized bike on a highway, and for driving a motorized bike without having identification in his possession.
