---- — Old Man Winter is poised to deliver another punch to weary Midwesterners, with Terre Haute and the Wabash Valley squarely in its sights.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning effective 1 p.m. Tuesday until 1 p.m. Wednesday. Total accumulations over the 24-hour period could vary according to what region of the Valley you are in, with the Terre Haute forecast calling for 6 to 8 inches.

Chances of snow will decrease throughout the morning on Wednesday. There could be areas of blowing snow until about midday.

Temperatures will plummet Wednesday night with lows around 1 degree.

Areas south of Terre Haute could have slightly less snow accumulations, but will have an increased chance of rain and ice on Tuesday afternoon before turning to snow Tuesday night.
