Parkinson’s Support Group looks to future

TERRE HAUTE — January typically sparks people to look ahead in time, and the Terre Haute Parkinson’s Support Group will do just that on Friday.

The nonprofit organization for those affected by the neurological disease meets from 10 to 11 a.m. that day in Westminster Village at 1120 Davis Drive. This month’s session will feature an open exchange of ideas for session topics in 2014.

The meeting is open to the public, and admission is free.

Parkinson’s afflicts nearly 1.5 million Americans. No cure is known, but treatments and medication can slow or delay its progression. Symptoms include tremors of the limbs, speech difficulties and balance problems.

For more information, contact support group organizer Loyal Bishop at 812-242-4668.
