TERRE HAUTE —
A Terre Haute man was transported to an Indianapolis hospital Tuesday after reportedly being shot during an attempted robbery at his northside home.
The Terre Haute Police Department, in a news release, stated officers received a call about 1:32 p.m. reporting a shooting near 13th and Buckeye streets.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers determined that two men had entered a home on Buckeye Street and attempted to rob the homeowner. The suspects, described as black males between ages 20 and 30 wearing bandanas and dark hoodies, were both believed to be armed, according to the release. An altercation took place in the home and the homeowner was shot, police stated.
The homeowner was first taken to Union Hospital and then to an Indianapolis hospital for treatment. His condition was unknown at the time the release was issued late Tuesday afternoon.
