Terre Haute man wins on Hoosier Millionaire

First week of sales yields more than $1 million in prizes

INDIANAPOLIS —The 25th anniversary edition of Hoosier Millionaire hit the streets last week and Hoosier Lottery players are already in the money! So far, more than $1 million has been won by lucky players!

In fact, one player, Randall Spivey, has already claimed the first of nine $75,000 instant prizes available!

Spivey, a Terre Haute mechanic who purchased his winning ticket at Maui Stop and Shop on S. 7th Street in Terre Haute, grew up watching the Hoosier Millionaire. In addition to instantly winning the Scratch-off's top prize, Spivey has entered non-winning Hoosier Millionaire tickets into the second chance drawing for a shot at the $1 million grand prize to be awarded this summer.

The lucky player, a long-time Terre Haute resident, plans to bolster his savings account with his winnings.

The new version of the Hoosier Lottery's first ever Scratch-off went on sale Jan. 7 and has already been a big hit with players. Several events to officially launch the Scratch-off were conducted across the state of Indiana, with some players driving several hours to get a chance to meet their favorite Hoosier Lottery personalities, Mark Patrick and Tony Lamont.

In the days of the original Hoosier Millionaire televised game show, Patrick was the host and Lamont was the announcer. They, along with long-time Hoosier Millionaire favorite Barbara Hobbs, will be back as hosts of a traveling live show that will make multiple stops around the state. The six shows will lead up to a live televised seventh show, in which one of the contestants from each of the six regional shows will compete for a chance to win $1 million!

The new Hoosier Millionaire, a $5 Scratch-off, features two ways to win: instantly up to $75,000, and a chance to become a contestant on one of the six game shows.

The locations of the six Hoosier Millionaire live game shows are:

• Evansville, The Centre Theatre, March 27

• Fort Wayne, Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, April 17

• Terre Haute, Hulman Center, May 15

• New Albany, The Riverfront, June 19

• Elkhart, The Lerner Theater, July 24

• Indianapolis, Indiana State Fair, August 16

The seventh show, in which the grand prize of $1 million may be awarded, will also be at the State Fair on August 16.  This show will air on television.

Other details on the Hoosier Millionaire Road Show events and how to enter for a chance to participate in them is available at www.hoosierlottery.com. Seating is limited at events.
