eBus brings financial empowerment to town

TERRE HAUTE — A 40-foot long mobile classroom is scheduled to roll  into Terre Haute today, carrying what its sponsors call “financial empowerment.”

The vehicle is called the Fifth Third Bank Financial Empowerment Mobile eBus.

It is scheduled to be at the Terre Haute Boys and Girls Club, 4 N. 13th St., from 3 to 7 p.m. today.

According to a press release, the bus will continue with stops in Columbus, Bloomington, Lafayette, Indianapolis and Fort Wayne through July 26.

“Being committed to financial empowerment in the communities we serve, the eBus allows us to reach residents in their neighborhoods, where they are most comfortable, and outside the traditional financial center setting,” Steven Alonso, president of Fifth Third’s Central Region, said in a press release.

“Fifth Third Bank believes financial empowerment for all is the key to a healthy and growing community. We’re happy to bring these tools to our neighbors and help them to be well-prepared to make smart financial decisions in the future.”
