TERRE HAUTE —
A Terre Haute woman was arrested after what police believe was an alcohol-related crash on U.S. 41 just north of Indiana 246 in southern Vigo County.
Police said Jennifer Mize, 26, had a blood-alcohol content of 0.22 percent when she was tested after failing field sobriety tests.
The Vigo County Sheriff’s Department said that at 4:54 p.m. Wednesday, deputies from Sullivan County arrived first at the scene of the crash to find Mize’s vehicle overturned on its driver side after striking a guardrail in the southbound lane.
Vigo County deputies arrived to investigate and said they found that Mize did not have a valid driver’s license.
They also said she stated that the vehicle had false registration.
After being medically cleared at Terre Haute Regional Hospital, Mize was transported to the Vigo County Jail, where she was booked on charges of driving while intoxicated and driver never receiving a license.
She was also cited for false and fictitious registration.
Mize was scheduled to appear in Vigo Superior Court 5 on Thursday, and was released on her own recognizance.
