Police arrest man after he crashes stolen vehicle

BLOOMFIELD — A Coalmont man armed with an assault rifle led police on a high-speed chase before crashing a stolen vehicle Thursday night in Greene County.

Travis Flowers, 21, who also has a Hymera address, was wanted on a Sullivan County warrant after he allegedly stole a car and firearms from a residence, and later stole cash from another residence. He was also wanted on a Greene County warrant for theft.

Flowers was on Indiana 246 in Clay County around 8:30 p.m. and police tried to stop his vehicle. Flowers fled in the stolen vehicle and crashed the car on Lone Tree Road in Greene County.

He was taken into custody following the crash and was lodged in the Greene County Jail. The suspect vehicle contained multiple firearms, according to a Linton Police report.

An initial hearing via video in Greene Circuit Court is set for Monday afternoon.
