Tribune-Star staff report
TERRE HAUTE —
A storm that blew through the Wabash Valley early Wednesday caused power outages in several counties but toward the end of the day, residents were getting their lights back on.
As of 1 p.m. Wednesday, The Tribune-Star reported that 6,900 customers in Vigo County were without power, but Duke Energy said that number was down to 2,740 as of 6 p.m.
In Clay County, most of the 1,500 customers who lost power earlier in the day had their power restored. Duke Energy reported 133 were still without power in Clay County as of 6 p.m.
Vigo County Central Dispatch received calls on Wednesday about limbs being down, particularly in the north end of the county, but as evening approached, no other damage was reported, dispatchers said.
