Lucky charm: Bloomfield couple welcomes new great-grandson and $100,000 Lottery win

News Release

---- — INDIANAPOLIS - Evie Chadwick of Bloomfield can't decide what her good luck charm is; a lucky dime or a new great-grandson.

"I have a new great-grandson named Braxton," said Chadwick, who visited Hoosier Lottery Headquarters June 25 with her husband Ken and grandson Dwayne. "Ken found a dime on the ground this morning and the last time he did that, we won $16,000."

This time, Chadwick won $100,000 on a Hoosier Lottery Scratch-off, the new Hot Cash ticket. Chadwick found her lucky dime and purchased her winning ticket at Huck's at 509 West Main Street in Bloomfield.

Ken Chadwick's superstition about finding lucky dimes was reaffirmed when Evie showed him the winning ticket.

"I gave it to him and he didn't have his glasses on, so he didn't believe it at first," said Evie Chadwick. "I told him, put your glasses on, we just won $100,000!"

The Chadwick's have plans to ensure their family won't have to worry about money in the future. Braxton, born a day before the big win, came into the family at the perfect time and will always hold a special place in his great-grandparent's hearts.

The Chadwick's are the second top prize winners on the $5 Hot Cash scratch-off.
