TERRE HAUTE —
The Indiana Blood Center and the Indiana Mothers’ Milk Bank are embarking on a partnership to allow each organization to be more effective in getting critical donations of blood and human milk to hospitals.
This partnership, effective June 16, allows each Indiana Blood Center location to act as a milk depot for approved milk donors as well. This is the first partnership of its kind between a milk and blood bank in the United States.
To celebrate this partnership, both organizations are hosting a ribbon-cutting at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, at the IBC Terre Haute location at 2021 S. Third St. Members of each organization and experts on infant health will speak about the importance of blood and milk donations and the significance of this partnership.
