BLOOMFIELD — Greene County residents took to the polls for the primary election Tuesday, and voter turnout was at 26.35 percent.

Marjorie Cullison, voter registration clerk in Greene County, said election officials encountered no problems on election day. Voter turnout was a lower than expected, it was about average compared with previous primaries, she said.

“The turnout was a little on the light side, but it was a good day overall,” she said.

There were 20,945 registered voters in the county and about 5, 520 cast their ballots;  730 were absentee ballots.
