TERRE HAUTE —
Students are invited to an alcohol-awareness event at Indiana State University that will take place at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18. in the Hulman Memorial Student Union.
The public event will explain how the Indiana Lifeline Law can protect young people against prosecution for alcohol-related offenses if they call 911 to seek assistance for an intoxicated friend suffering a medical emergency. University students from several campuses had advocated for creating the Lifeline Law, which the Indiana Legislature passed last year.
Speakers at today’s event in Dede III include State Sen. Jim Merritt, who is author of the Lifeline Law, and Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller. Students and the general public are welcome to attend the alcohol-awareness event.
