TERRE HAUTE — A Terre Haute woman received a 12-year sentence in Vigo Superior Court 3 on Monday after pleading guilty in three separate criminal cases.

Ashley Barker, 23, received credit for 298 days served in the Vigo County Jail, and must live at Freebirds Solution until she is discharged from that rehabilitation program.

The balance of her six-year sentence on three counts of forgery, a class-C felony, was suspended, as was the three-year sentence she received for one count of child neglect, and the three-year sentence she received for one count of perjury.

Barker was charged with child neglect in August 2011 after police arrested her and another person on alcohol-related charges when they were stopped for driving while intoxicated. Barker’s two small children were inside the car, along with bottle of vodka found in a child’s diaper bag.
