Traveling market to distribute produce at city locations

TERRE HAUTE — Terre Haute area residents will have a new way to shop for fresh fruits and vegetables beginning today as the Wabash Valley Mobile Market starts making weekly stops in designated locations.

A pickup truck will pull an 18-foot trailer to each location. Patrons can step through the back door and work their way to the front and check out. Prices will be very competitive, according to a press release.

The mobile market is funded in part by a grant obtained by the Indiana Association of United Ways along with area sponsors. The lead sponsor is Union Hospital.

Other sponsors include Vigo County Health Department, Regional Hospital, Indiana State University and Clabber Girl.

Each site will be visited once each week of October, as listed:

• 2 p.m. Dreiser Square Housing Complex

• 4 p.m. Union Hospital

Wednesday

• 2:30 p.m. Franklin Elementary School

• 4:30 p.m. Booker T. Washington Community Center
