Ivy Tech chancellor Valentine staying put

TERRE HAUTE — Ann Valentine, chancellor at Ivy Tech’s Wabash Valley region for two years, won’t be going to Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kan.

While she had been one of three finalists for the presidency there, she withdrew her application, she said.

After going through final interviews for the position, she decided, “It wasn’t where I wanted to be. … It’s a great opportunity for the right person.”

On June 20, the community college’s board of trustees chose Kimberly Krull to be the new Butler president.

At Ivy Tech, Valentine said she will continue focusing on initiatives she’s been working on, including the Rural Health Innovation Collaborative and a partnership with the Terre Haute Humane Society.
