SEELYVILLE — Exposure to a bug bomb sent up to a dozen people in eastern Vigo County to the hospital late Monday night.

Vigo County Central Dispatch confirmed 12 patients were either being taken by ambulance or were using personal vehicles to receive medical attention after being exposed to a bug bomb in a residence on North Main Street in Seelyville.

It was not immediately clear how the exposure occurred, Central Dispatch officials said. Early reports indicated some of those affected — four, according to scanner traffic — were children.

The Vigo County Sheriff’s Department, local fire units and Trans Care ambulance all responded to the scene of the incident, which was reported between 9 and 9:30 p.m.
