UPDATE: ISU student hospitalized in Indianapolis after crash

TERRE HAUTE — An Indiana State University student remains in critical condition in IU Health Methodist Hospital after a crash and car fire Wednesday on the ISU campus.

Mark McKinley, 30, of Terre Haute, was pulled out of his burning vehicle by an ISU Police officer who arrived at the scene shortly after the 1:47 p.m. crash in staff parking Lot 21 along Fourth Street. He was taken to Union Hospital and airlifted to the Indianapolis hospital.

McKinley’s vehicle crashed into three parked cars. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. A car fire spread to include four vehicles. A fifth vehicle had slight body damage from the crash.

Personnel from the Terre Haute Fire Department also responded to the scene with several emergency vehicles.
