I-70 project to close U.S. 41 ramps nightly beginning April 1

Contractor will resurface the interstate ramps

---- — VIGO COUNTY, Ind. — The Indiana Department of Transportation announce an asphalt resurfacing project will restrict westbound traffic on I-70 to one lane from the 5.5 mile marker to one mile east of U.S. 41 beginning on or after Tuesday, April 1. This project will resurface the ramps at U.S. 41 (Exit 7) beginning Tuesday night.

Crews plan to close the ramps from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. each day following this schedule, weather permitting:

April 1 -  westbound exit ramp to U.S. 41

April 2 —  westbound exit ramp to U.S. 41

April 3 —  westbound on ramp from U.S. 41

April 7 —  westbound on ramp from U.S. 41

April 8 — eastbound exit ramp to U.S. 41

April 9 — eastbound exit ramp to U.S. 41

April 10 — eastbound on ramp from U.S. 41

April 14 — eastbound on ramp from U.S. 41

This asphalt resurfacing project on I-70 is from just east of the Wabash River Bridge to just west of U.S. 40/ Indiana 46. Wabash Valley Asphalt was awarded the contract for $7.2 million. This project is scheduled for completion on April 30, 2014.
