Historical Museum to move downtown

Society plans fundraising campaign to renovate Glidden Furniture store

TERRE HAUTE — Vigo County Historical Society officials announced today that the museum at 1411 S. Sixth St. will move to a more prominent downtown Terre Haute location.

Museum executive director Marylee Hagan announced the purchase of the Glidden Furniture store at 929 Wabash Ave. as the future home for the museum. The transition to the new location likely will not occur until late 2013 or after, and will depend upon a fundraising campaign for the renovation of the new building.
