3 cars collide during rush hour

TERRE HAUTE — Two people were injured  Friday afternoon in a three-vehicle accident that slowed rush-hour traffic on U.S. 46 in Vigo County, authorities said.

The accident, which involved two pick-up trucks and a van, occurred at the intersection of Poplar Street and U.S. 46 on Terre Haute’s east side. It was observed that most of the damage on the vehicles, particularly the van, was on the front end.

Blood was seen on the pavement, as Terre Haute firefighters cleaned up the scene a little after 5 p.m. Police said the injuries, however, were not life-threatening.

Terre Haute Police Department and the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office were also at the scene.
