CLINTON — A Vermillion County man was arrested Thursday in connection with a firearm reported stolen from a home in July 2013, Indiana State Police said.

Drew M. Lubovich, 22, of Clinton, was charged with possession of a stolen property, a felony, and is being held in the Vermillion County Jail, police said.

Indiana State Police and Vermillion County Sheriff’s deputies served a search warrant Thursday at the Lubovich home at East State Road 163 in Clinton. The search was related to an ongoing investigation into the July 2013 burglary in the home of a former Vermillion County Sheriff’s reserve deputy, located on Washington Street in Fairview. Several firearms were taken as a result of the burglary, police said.

According to the Indiana State Police, officers located approximately 30 grams of suspected marijuana and related paraphernalia at the suspect’s home during the search. However, no other stolen items related to the burglary were located. Additional charges may be levied in coming days in relation to the seized contraband, police said.

During a vehicle crash investigation on Feb. 5, Vermillion County Sheriff officials recovered a Taurus 9 millimeter handgun, which was reported stolen from the July 2013 Fairview burglary, according to the Indiana State Police. Information gleaned at the crash site, along with other investigative information gathered during the ongoing investigation, led Indiana State Police and the Vermillion County Sheriff’s Office to a search of the Lubovich home, police said.

Investigation is ongoing on the July 2013 burglary and stolen firearms.

Indiana Conservation Officers and Black Diamond Fire Department also assisted in the investigation.
