MARSHALL, ILL. —
The Illinois Department of Transportation plans to begin doing shoulder work Monday on Interstate 70, from one mile west of Marshall to the Indiana state line.
The work involves placing a rock shoulder wedge up against the asphalt shoulder to remedy a dropoff that has occurred where existing rock has receded over time, the department said in a press release.
Lanes will be closed during daytime only, the department said, and the project is expected to be completed in about three weeks, weather permitting.
AJ Walker Construction Co. is the project’s prime contractor.
