A man reported missing by his family on Friday has returned home.
Just before 10 p.m. Tuesday, Clay County resident David M. Schroeder returned to his Brazil-area home.
Terre Haute Police Assistant Chief Shawn Keen said the department was notified Tuesday night by Schroeder’s wife that he had returned home on his own. Keen said that the Clay County Sheriff’s Department visited the Schroeder residence and confirmed that he had returned.
A THPD detective was planning to speak to Schroeder on Wednesday afternoon as a follow-up to the investigation.
Schroeder’s family contacted authorities after he failed to return home on Friday. He was reportedly last seen at a downtown Terre Haute bank. Some family members had posted alerts about his disappearance on the social website Facebook during the weekend, however, those notices were not visible on Wednesday.
