TERRE HAUTE — Westbound traffic is now flowing on Interstate 70 near U.S. 41 as cleanup continues for an overturned tractor-trailer.

One westbound lane is open as of 8:45 a.m. today, Vigo County Central Dispatch reports, but motorists are encouraged to avoid the westbound ramp onto I-70 from U.S. 41 (Third Street).

An accident involving a Yellow Freight semi occurred at about 6:30 a.m. when the semi overturned, spilling between 100 and 150 gallons of diesel fuel. The highway was closed to traffic while emergency personnel contained and cleaned up the spill.

Authorities report that the driver of the semi was not injured.

Terre Haute Police are investigating the accident.
