TERRE HAUTE —
Wabash Valley Habitat for Humanity will conduct two Veteran Family Partner Orientations at the VFW, 1111 Veteran Square, one block north of Wabash on 12th Street, in Terre Haute. The first session is 6 p.m. Tuesday and a second opportunity is 10 a.m. Saturday.
Habitat will be building its first house designated for a veteran and his/her family with first priority going to a disabled veteran. Construction will begin in late spring of this year. The Partner Family Orientation will inform veterans and their families of Habitat for Humanity’s mission and how to become a Habitat Homeowner Partner Family.
Habitat will also be accepting applications for another build in late fall, which is open to all qualified applicants. Minimum guidelines for Habitat home ownership are: current resident in Vigo County for at least six months; income of 30 percent to 60 percent of the median income of Vigo County. For a family of four the income range would be $16,100-$32,160 with credit in good standing.
