Autopsy expected in possible Jasonville homicide

JASONVILLE — Investigation continues this week on the possible New Year’s Eve homicide in western Greene County and police are asking anyone with information to contact them.

The body of a 25-year-old male was found on Meridian Street in Jasonville around 12:55 a.m. early Wednesday, New Year’s Day.

“There was suspicious circumstances,” said Greene County Coroner Sherri Wilson.

The autopsy is scheduled 8 a.m. today at the Terre Haute Regional Hospital, Wilson said. Dr. Roland Kohr, a forensic pathologist, will conduct the autopsy, she said. Results may be released later in the day, she added.

In a written statement from the Jasonville Police Department, police are asking for anyone with information to contact Greene County Crime Stoppers at 812-847-5463. According to the police statement, all callers are anonymous and a cash reward will be offered for any information that leads to an arrest.

Police will update the media and the public as the investigation continues, the statement said.

The Jasonville Police Department, The Indiana State Police and the Greene County Coroner’s Office are involved with the investigation.
