TERRE HAUTE —
Cash bonds of $75,000 each have been set for a woman and her boyfriend arrested for allegedly molesting an 11-year-old relative prior to Christmas.
Victoria Lynn Anderson, 29, and Jeremy Scott Doerr, 36, appeared in Vigo Superior Court 3 on Tuesday where Senior Judge Michael Eldred found probable cause for their arrest on Monday by Indiana State Police investigators.
In court, ISP Detective Sam Stearley stated that the molestation occurred in a room of a Margaret Avenue motel where Anderson, formerly of Cloverdale, was staying with Doerr. The child reported to an adult relative on Friday that she had witnessed Anderson and Doerr having sex, had been shown pornographic videos and photos by the couple, and had engaged in sexual conduct with them.
The child was interviewed by police on Monday, and search warrants were issued for the couple’s cell phones and a candy cane reportedly containing alcohol. Stearley said that a forensic examination of the couple’s cell phones revealed pornographic data, but the candy cane was not found.
In interviews with police conducted at the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department, Stearley said, Anderson stated that they had shown the child pornographic images, and that the two adults and child had taken a shower together.
Eldred asked Stearley if Anderson or Doerr had made a statement as to why the incidents occurred. Stearley said that Anderson told police it was a “learning experience” for the child and was Doerr’s idea. Stearley said that Doerr told police that he had been drinking alcohol and did not remember whose idea it was.
Eldred found probable cause for the arrests of Anderson and Doerr on charges of child molestation, vicarious sexual gratification and sexual battery. They were returned to the Vigo County Jail.
Formal charges are to be filed by at 10 a.m. Monday when Anderson and Doerr are expected to return to court.
