Charges are recommended by arresting officers but are not final until the Vigo County prosecutor reviews the case and files official charges.


Joshua B. Harris, 31, 700 block of South Eighth Street, West Terre Haute. Booked 5:47 p.m. Failure to appear.

Jamie J. Cottingham, 37, 10 block of South Fifth, Terre Haute. Booked 6:13 p.m. Failure to appear (two counts).

Eddie J. Walton, 53, no address available, Terre Haute. Booked 7:36 p.m. Public intoxication.

Donald S. Barnhart, 50, 500 block of South Fifth Street, West Terre Haute. Booked 10:56 p.m. Failure to appear.

Lindsey M. Worthington, 26, 1000 block of South Gorhan Place, West Terre Haute. Booked 11:20 p.m. Criminal conversion.


Devonce O. Whitesides, 19, 1300 block of Chestnut Street, Terre Haute. Booked 12:43 a.m. Failure to appear.

Douglas R. Smokstad, 52, 3000 block of North 13th Street, Terre Haute. Booked 1:19 a.m. Operating while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident.

Ontario M. Lowe, 23, 10 block of East Fifth Avenue, Terre Haute. Booked 6:57 a.m. Operating while intoxicated and driver never licensed.

Sarah E. Cox, 30, 1700 block of North Lafayette Street, Terre Haute. Booked 6:09 p.m. Probation violation and possession of controlled substance.

Brian D. Martin, 28, 1700 block of East U.S. 36, Rockville. Booked 10:53 p.m. Bond revocation.


James D. Rich, 33, 4400 block of South Longyear Place, Terre Haute. Booked 2:46 a.m. Domestic battery and public intoxication.

Daniel L. Rogers, 50, 1300 block of South 16th Street, Terre Haute. Booked 4:03 p.m. Operating while intoxicated.


David G. Bouffard, 33, 4200 block of East 75th Avenue, Terre Haute. Booked 12:36 a.m. Intimidation.

Shaughn M. Haring, 42, 700 block of South 18th Street, Terre Haute. Booked 11:31 a.m. Failure to appear (two counts).

Michael L. Horton, 36, 13800 block of North County Road 300 West, Rosedale. Booked 11:44 a.m. Parole violation.

Under the law, criminal charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
