Seelyville — A one-vehicle crash on U.S. 40 at Seelyville sent one man to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis early today.

The Vigo County Sheriff’s Department reports that at 3:01 a.m., a westbound 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche crossed the center line of U.S. 40 and continued off the south side of the road, crashing head-on into a tree west of Tabortown Road.

The driver, Zachary T. Flaurr of Rockville, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, Deputy Jim Haley and Lt. Don Westerfield reported. When they arrived at the scene, Flaurr had been extricated from the vehicle by Seelyville Fire Department personnel. He was the only occupant of the vehicle. He was airlifted to Indianapolis via Lifeline helicopter.

A blood test for intoxication is pending, deputies report.
