Red Cross ‘Dine Out’ fundraiser today

TERRE HAUTE — As part of the 2013 Save the Day Campaign, restaurants across the region, including in the Wabash Valley, are taking a pledge to donate a percentage of their sales today to the American Red Cross.

The Save the Day Campaign is the largest fundraiser of the year for the local Red Cross. This year, the goal is $65,000.

“This year’s Dine Out event will help raise a significant portion of that goal, and we ask everyone to take the time out of their day to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner on April 24 at the restaurants that have partnered up with the Red Cross,” said Carol Stevens, executive director of the Wabash Valley Chapter.

Every dollar that customers spend at local eating establishments helps the local economy and helps fund Red Cross services such as disaster relief, youth preparedness and healthy living workshop and services to the Armed Forces.

Current Wabash Valley participating restaurants include: Texas Roadhouse, Rick’s Smokehouse and Grill, Taj Mahal, The Ballyhoo, J. Gumbo and Thomas Pizza King in Greencastle. McDonald’s of Paris, Ill., is holding its Dine-Out on May 1, and McDonald’s of Clinton will Dine-Out on May 13.

Additional participating restaurants are welcome. For information about joining as a participating restaurant, contact Dale Anderson, American Red Cross Wabash Valley Chapter, at 812-232-3393, ext. 116, or dale.anderson@redcross.org.
