Greene County man injured when car flips

BLOOMFIELD — A wreck in eastern Greene County sent a Bloomfield teen to the hospital early Saturday.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Department reported that Kenneth Byers, 19, of Bloomfield, said he was driving on Washboard Road west of Vendeventer Road when he fell asleep about 1 a.m. Saturday morning.

Byers’ vehicle, a 1999 Ford Crown Victoria, struck a guard rail and overturned into a creek, police reported.

Byers was transported to Greene County General Hospital complaining of pain in his wrist and side, the sheriff’s department reported.

The accident was investigated by Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Bobby Pierce.
