TERRE HAUTE —
Three people received minor injuries and one motorist was cited following a three-vehicle crash on U.S. 41 at Springhill Drive at 9:59 a.m. Wednesday.
The Vigo County Sheriff’s Department reports that a minivan driven by Brittney Daring of Brazil was southbound on U.S. 41 when it collided with a westbound passenger car driven by Beth Chironna of Terre Haute. The collision caused the car to then collide with an eastbound pickup truck driven by Albert Roddy of Martinsville, Ill. The truck was stopped at the intersection.
Chief Deputy Clark Cottom reported that both Chironna and Daring claimed to have had the right-of-way at the time of the collision. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Daring was cited for driving while suspended with a prior conviction, a class-A misdemeanor, as well as driving without insurance, an infraction, and knowingly driving without insurance with a prior conviction, a class-C misdemeanor.
Chironna, Daring and Daring’s minor child were transported to local hospitals for treatment of minor injuries.
Drugs and alcohol are not factors in the crash, Cottom reported.
Assisting at the accident scene were Honey Creek Fire and TransCare Ambulance personnel.
