DNA samples may ID human remains

Lawrence County, Ill. —

Invesigators have turned to DNA samples to identity a body found just north of U.S. 50 in rural Lawrence County, Ill., on Nov. 7.

The Illinois State Police Crime Lab will analyze the DNA and compare it to known missing persons, including Edward Hataway of Olney, Ill., who was last seen Sept. 16.

An autopsy was conducted Thursday in Lawrence County.

Anyone with information regarding Hataway or the remains is asked to contact Lt. Kelly Hodge, Illinois State Police Zone 7 Investigations, at 217-342-2292, ext. 201.
