Catholic Charities Annual Benefit set for Sept. 17

The Tribune-Star

Catholic Charities Annual Benefit, featuring James T. Morris, Pacers president and former executive director of the United Nations World Program, will be at 6 p.m. Sept 17, with a silent auction followed by dinner and a presentation at 7 p.m. at Idle Creek Golf Course and Banquet Center. The cost is $50 per person, $100 per couple or $500 for a table of 10.

Sally Stewart and Henry Smith are event co-chairmen. Catholic Charities Terre Haute’s 34th Annual Benefit Dinner and Silent Auction will benefit the programs of Catholic Charities Terre Haute: Ryves Youth Center, Food Bank, Bethany House and Christmas Story and Household Exchange. These four programs serve nearly 10,000 people each year and distribute almost 2 million pounds of food each year to charitable pantries in the Wabash Valley.

The featured speaker will be James T. Morris, president of the Indiana Pacers and former executive director of the United Nations World Food Program. He will speak of his past and current experiences with poverty and community leadership and the importance of supporting organizations that fight hunger and poverty every day.
