Diabetes cooking school planned

Union Hospital and Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service are teaming up to offer Dining with Diabetes Cooking School. This program will be offered from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 19 and Aug. 26. Both sessions will be hosted by Spectrum Industries, 1616 Wabash Ave.
Each session will provide educational information led by certified diabetes educators, and cooking demonstrations that will provide ways to alter recipes to fit into the diabetic eating plan. Participants will be able to taste the dishes demonstrated. Each participant will receive recipe cards at each session.
The cost of the school is $25. Registration must be made by Friday. Call the Purdue Extension Service-Vigo County Office at (812) 462-3371.
