TERRE HAUTE A senior-level official at Indiana State University submitted his resignation Tuesday, citing personal reasons and the opportunity to pursue other professional objectives.

Gregg Floyd, vice president for business affairs and finance, as well as the university treasurer, resigned effective immediately, according to Interim President C. Jack Maynard in a media release issued Thursday.

According to a compilation of state employees’ salaries on www.indystar.com, Floyd’s 2007 salary was $157,636.

“We are appreciative of the leadership Gregg Floyd provided during a very challenging period with our budget. He also was instrumental in advancing several building projects that will significantly improve the physical environment we provide to our students,” Maynard said.

According to the release, Floyd indicated he resigned for personal reasons and to pursue other professional objectives.

“I have really enjoyed these past six years at Indiana State and have especially enjoyed the good people with whom I have had the opportunity to work. I am proud to have been involved in numerous construction projects that I feel will have a dramatic impact on Indiana State and the students it serves. I was also pleased to have advocated successfully for several enhancements to the university’s benefits program,” Floyd said.

Floyd served as the university’s chief financial officer and has overseen the university’s budgeting and fiscal operations, purchasing, facilities management, environmental safety, university properties and risk management since 2002. Floyd previously served as assistant vice chancellor and director of business affairs at Indiana University.

Maynard indicated that Diann McKee, associate vice president for business affairs and finance and university budget officer will serve as acting vice president for business affairs, finance and university treasurer.

According to the university’s Web site, the Business Affairs Division at Indiana State University is responsible for many of the administrative and financial areas of the university including budgeting, payroll, human resources, purchasing, facilities, risk management, environmental safety, space management and workman’s compensation.
