Family Dollar blaze Sunday afternoon

— Emergency responders blocked Poplar Street from 14th to 15th streets Sunday afternoon as smoke poured out of the Family Dollar store.
Dispatchers reported the fire about 4:20 p.m. and small crowds of neighbors gathered across Poplar Street at the Church of God of Terre Haute as the Terre Haute Fire Department poured water into the smoking store in the 1400 block of Poplar Street.
No flames were visible from the street, but black smoke poured out along the roof and through the front windows.
The store was vacant at the time of the fire and no injuries reported.
The fire remained under investigation Sunday evening.
