NEW: Vermillion EMA encourages flood victims to report damage

CLINTON — Citizens of Vermillion County who received damage from the recent flooding are urged to report the damage to the Vermillion County Emergency Management Agency, states a release today from the agency.

The EMA has a short form to fill out that is the first step in getting federal help.

The form is not mandatory to receive aid but will help the agency access the damage and will provide the EMA with contact information.

Gov. Mitch Daniels has declared Vermillion County a disaster area and has requested federal assistance for its citizens. We are waiting for a response from the federal government, the release states.

Vermillion County Emergency Management Agency will notify those who have received damage if and when FEMA will be in the area to provide assistance. Citizens are urged to document all losses. If possible take photos of damage and save receipts for any materials or work done to repair the flood damage.
