About 50 percent of voters turn out in Vermillion

Vermillion County voters went to the polls in large numbers Tuesday despite few local contested races.
Around 50 percent of Vermillion County voters cast ballots, according to the Vermillion County Clerk’s office.
New York Sen. Hillary Clinton won 66 percent of Vermillion County’s Democratic vote over Illinois Sen. Barack Obama’s 34 percent in the presidential primary.
Meanwhile, the sitting county clerk was re-elected and a pair of incumbents retained their seats on the County Council.
