About 160 members of the Indiana National Guard’s 1313th Engineer Company will be activated next month for deployment to Irag.
Maj. Gen. R. Martin Umbarger, Indiana’s adjutant general, says the soldiers will go to Fort McCoy in Wisconsin toward the end of May for training for a “wide-range of engineering operations” in Iraq.
Umbarger says the deployment should last no more than one year. The company is based at Camp Atterbury in Edinburgh.
