A couple who ran a baby-sitting service out of their home had been performing sexual acts on children as young as 2 months old for more than five months before being arrested, court documents allege.
The probable cause affidavit dated March 6 said Samantha Light, 25, and Stephen E. Quick, 31, began videotaping sex acts with at least four children age 6 or under in September 2008 and continued until February 2009.
Quick and Light, both of Veedersburg in western Indiana, face multiple felony charges of child molestation and child exploitation. They are being held on $100,000 cash bond in the Fountain County Jail in Covington awaiting a May 14 court appearance.
Police searched the couple’s home after the parents of a 3-year-old girl in the couple’s care reported that she told them Quick and Light had touched her inappropriately and photographed her at their home on Feb. 28.
Police who searched the couple’s home found a videotape depicting sex acts involving Quick and Light and at least four different children, the affidavit said. Deputies also seized several computers, cameras, a video camera, pornographic materials, sex toys, drugs and drug paraphernalia, authorities said.
Quick and Light were arrested March 5. Neither has a criminal history. Authorities have removed the couple’s daughter from their home.
Light’s attorney, Thomas P. O’Connor, declined to comment on the case. Messages seeking comment from Steven B. McCombs, who is representing Quick, were not immediately returned Tuesday.
