A Terre Haute woman was arrested Thursday for allegedly stabbing her mother’s acquaintance with a butcher knife, authorities said.
About 3:30 a.m., Takiesha M. Bean, 24, had an argument with Anthony Coe, 46, and stabbed him in the back, police said.
The two, along with two other acquaintances, were at Coe’s apartment in the 800 block of Oak Street, police said. After the stabbing, one acquaintance called 911.
Coe was taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital before being taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Coe said he could not feel his lower extremities after the stabbing, police said.
The hospital could not release information on his condition Thursday. Under state law, patients can request their information to be kept private.
Bean was arrested and preliminarily charged with battery with serious bodily injury. She was held in the Vigo County jail, with bail at $75,000.
