Overpass option was only solution
I wrote in one of my letters to the paper sometime back when Mayor Bennett started the movement to move the trains out of Terre Haute that it was never going to happen, that overpasses would have to be built.
I now read in this quote from the mayor: “The idea of moving the trains is not going to happen.” My question is this, I wonder how much of the taxpayers’ money was spent on consultants to find this out? Most people already knew that this absurd idea wasn’t going to happen.
By the way, I worked on the railroad 40 years, that’s why I knew it was something that cost-wise was out of the question and could never be done … and that information was free.
