Will bloodbaths in America ever end?

USA Today’s 9/17 huge banner headline heralded the Washington Navy Yard carnage of 9/16 as “Again.”

When the next mass shooting occurs in the United States, I assume USA Today’s  headline will read, “And Again.”

Without question, there will be more American gun-related tragedies to report about in the future. As long as Wayne LaPierre and his NRA cronies control special interest and lobbyist groups, who in turn exercise their deleterious influence over their puppets in Congress and state legislatures, we are forced to deal with more future mass killings whether involving a school, a mall, the workplace or military installation.

It’s just a matter of time before the next bloodletting event given the millions of guns held in America’s gun culture. After all, guns in American society are all about the money. To the weapons manufacturers, retailers, and gun show operators, the business of guns is big business.

Quite frankly, to those people at USA Today, I can’t conceive of what their headline will read in the aftermath of a future mass murder event after the next “And Again” event. Be there no mistake, media, and don’t fool yourselves, America. Bloodbaths by the use of guns will occur again, and again, and again.
