Health care law hurting workers

It’s every day you read, talk or listen about the Obama health-care law. It affects every working middle-class person. Like always.

I am a teaching assistant in an elementary school. My hours have been cut by 53⁄4 hours per week, and I lost six paid days.

Thanks, politicians. This health-care law has cost me personally $250 a month, plus six paid days. And guess what? I have no health case. Thanks again for nothing. Oh, I’ve also lost my heat bill and water bill. Maybe I can get funding for that.

Thank God for my husband’s full-time job with benefits. For now. What if I were single?

I don’t think these overpaid, educated idiots running our nation have a clue what goes on in the real world with all the cuts, the laws, the rip-offs or whatever they are called.

They need to sit back and listen to “We the People.” Maybe they would if their six-figure salaries and health care was affected. Fat chance.

Here’s an idea. Let’s all quit paying our taxes and handle our own money. What are they going to do? Build more prisons? I think not.

I realize this country was built on “United We Stand, Divided We Fall,” but, hey, politicians, wake up!

Revolutions have happened before. We the people are sick of it.

Great fun when ‘Wheel’ rolled in

A thank you to WTWO for bringing the “Wheel of Fortune” group to Terre Haute. Also to all the Wheel crew who did such a good job entertaining us Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

I couldn’t be there on Sunday, but Friday, I was at Glidden’s and Saturday at Wabash Valley Fairgrounds. Terre Haute does not do enough to entertain people of all wage groups. And this was free, so all could come.

We laughed and some cried. Marty was so funny. Tracy made a great Vanna, and we all had fun.

Glidden Furniture, WTWO and all other people who helped were so appreciated. God bless you all for bringing joy to our town.

Thank you so much. It was a wonderful time.
