Why does peace still elude us?

This is directed to “MsTakes” columnist Liz Ciancone:

I read your column in the Opinion page of the Tribune-Star dated April 15, 2014, titled “Not much peace since war to end all wars.” I truly appreciated your observation of the fact that 100 years have passed since the start of WW I. For that reason I am pleased to write this letter to you.

Your comprehension of the fact that there has not really been any peace on Earth since the historic year of 1914 is important because why this is so is mentioned throughout the Bible. The Feb. 1, 2014, issue of the Watchtower magazine titled “The War That Changed the World” discusses how it all unfolded and what was operating behind the scenes. Things did not improve after Nov. 11, 1918, as the Spanish flu spread worldwide along with hunger and economic misery.

The article explains how the unique string of catastrophes have actually fulfilled Bible prophesies. Revelation chapter 6 speaks of the Four Horsemen and has a direct parallel to events of our day.

You may find this timely article on the website: www.jw.org. You will find answers from the Bible on any subject at this site as well. Of course, Jehovah’s Witnesses are more than happy to visit you personally to discuss the Bible’s hope of a positive future for all humankind.

Apologist for the establishment

Michael Mareena wrote, “Give me a few weeks, and I will explain to you how the corrupt, racist, right-wing radicals are finishing the job the terrorists began on Sept. 11, 2001.”

Howard Pennell answered by writing, “I can’t believe you would accuse another American of being connected to the terrorist attack on 9/11. Your words border on hate speech,” and continued by calling the printing of this “garbage” biased.

Some governments that had to be involved were the United States government, Israel and Saudi Arabia.

One new bit of information I recently read is from the Ron Suskind book, “The Price of Liberty” which mentioned that the Bush administration listed companies from 30 countries who might be interested in the nine proposed blocks of Iraqi oil fields — in February of 2001 (“Foreign Suitors for Iraqi Oilfield Contracts”).

It appears to me Mr. Pennell is writing as a billionaire establishment apologist.

Since he cannot put the war crimes where they belong, let’s blame the messenger.
