Good people came to aid after mishap
Thank you, Tribune-Star, for making it possible to publicly thank three wonderful people for the kindness and concern they extended to strangers in distress.
My daughter and I were involved in an auto accident. Sharon Truax (nurse) immediately came to our aid, checking on all of us. Diana LaFollette and daughter stayed with us offering assistance, even taking me home, carrying in my groceries they retrieved and offering to take me to the hospital to check on my daughter.
These good people have restored my faith in human nature. Not having any way to contact these good people, we appreciate this opportunity.

Fixing ruts would help the cause
The West Nile Virus is now in Indiana, and it’s early in the season. Mosquitoes only need a soda cap of water to breed. Can you imagine how many can breed in the alley between North 141⁄2 Street and North 14th?
The ruts in the alley are deep and hold water for days after a rain. I would think the town would start filling these ruts instead of just going around with the trucks spraying.
