Evan Philip Lees

CLINTON — Evan Philip Lees, 7, of Clinton, died Friday, May 9, 2008, in the emergency room of West Central Community Hospital in Clinton, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident south of Rockville on U.S. Highway 41. His grandfather, Philip Evan Pefley also died as a result of the accident. He was a kindergarten student at Ernie Pyle Elementary School. He was born Jan. 16, 2001, in Stevens Port, Wis., to Anthony Lees and Lyn Pefley Lees.
Survivors include his father, of Tamworth, England; his mother of Clinton; one sister, Lauren Lees of Clinton; maternal grandmother, Barbara Pefley of Rockville; maternal great-grandparents, Jack and Louise Norris of Montezuma; maternal great-great-grandmother, Leora Sheppard of Montezuma; paternal grandparents, Tony and Christine Lees of Tamworth, England; two uncles, Andrew and Richard Lees of Tamworth, England; several aunts uncles and cousins.
He attended the Montezuma Christian Church where he was active in Sunday School. He played Little League baseball in Clinton for the White Sox. He loved to play video games, ride his bike, collecting and playing with Thomas the Train. He loved to play the guitar and sing. He had sung at the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival and at his church. He especially loved to drive his Grandpa’s golf cart.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Wednesday in Gooch Funeral Home, 112 W. Howard St., in Rockville, with the Revs. Steve Gommel and Eric Moore officiating. Burial is in Coloma Friends Cemetery in Coloma. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ernie Pyle Elementary School, 72 East 1100 South, Clinton, IN 47842 in his memory.
