Vigo County Jail Log: Dec. 10, 2013

TERRE HAUTE — The following individuals were booked into the Vigo County Jail by area law enforcement on Monday and Tuesday, based on jail records. Charges are recommended by arresting officers but are not final until the Vigo County prosecutor reviews the case and files official charges.

Monday

Billy J. Owens, 52, 500 block of South Fifth Street, Terre Haute. Booked 8:36 a.m. Parole violation.

Ashley N. Kuhn, 28, 1800 block of Woodlawn Avenue, Terre Haute. Booked 10:12 a.m. Battery.

William Carter III, 29, 1800 block of North Holmes Avenue, Indianapolis. Booked 11:56 a.m. Perobation violation.

Christopher Bowerly, 30, 5300 block of East Greenbriar Drive, Terre Haute. Booked 2:08 p.m. Failure to appear (two counts).

Eric R. Shorter, 38, 2200 block of North 26th Street, Terre Haute. Booked 2:42 p.m. Contempt of court.

Dustin M. Tippin, 38, 1500 block of North Third Avenue, Terre Haute. Booked 4:35 p.m. Criminal conversion.

Leonard J. Fields, 32, 1300 block of North Fort Harrison Road, Terre Haute. Booked 9:45 p.m. Domestic battery.

Bonnie J. Monk, 31, 6800 block of North Wahoo Tree Street, Terre Haute. Booked 10:02 p.m. Failure to appear.

Tuesday

Paul A. Rukes, 33, 2300 block of Eighth Avenue, Terre Haute. Booked 12:17 a.m. Dealing methamphetamine and maintaining a common nuisance.

Larry L. Smith, 29, 100 block of Gilbert Avenue, Terre Haute. Booked 1:58 a.m. Possession of a firearm by violent felon and pointing a firearm.

James A. Chapman Jr., 25, 4100 block of East Hall Avenue, Terre Haute. Booked 2:27 a.m. Domestic battery and serious battery (two counts).

Under the law, criminal charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
